I admit this is not the most interesting room in a house but for us, each finished space is a huge accomplishment that deserves celebrating.
Without further ado…
the new utility room:
Paint: Pale oak by Benjamin Moore
Cabinets: Harrison Collection by Aristokraft in Saddle
Granite: Giallo Verona (Not my first choice. I got called on the day of install with news the granite remnant I had chosen and paid for, was pitted and they couldn’t cut it without it breaking. I went and picked this out, really the only thing they had that wasn’t grey, to keep the project moving. I had plumbing and electric coming out later that week. I had to have granite.)
Sink: Ruvati 32-inch 16 gauge Stainless Steel single bowl sink with a
Kraus Bolden Commercial Kitchen faucet in chrome. It’s huge and perfect for bathing our dogs!
Tile: A distressed pattern in beige, with several accent tiles form Floor & Decor. Steve did an amazing job on the install! (The first granite was specifically chosen as it had a light blue streak though it that tied in the accent tiles. The installed granite would look better without the accent tiles. Steve said he could remove them someday when he is out of projects! 🙂 )
Door: Prepped with Minwax Wood Conditioner, stained with Varathane Classic in English Chestnut and finished with Minwax Paste Finishing Wax in natural followed by a good buffing. It’s beautiful!
This door was repurposed from the original house. It’s one of the french doors that used to separate the dining and living rooms. Steve sanded it and then I stained and waxed it.
We have some finishing touches to accomplish such as floor trim, painting the door trim and hanging distressed tin tiles on the ceiling.
It’s gonna be so cool!
All in good time!
Keep it simple but do it with sass!
