What a week!
I’m not sure what I am more excited about, the porch taking shape or the absolutely gorgeous windows they installed!
Last I updated you the porch had it’s cap and we were ready for a roof.
And here it is…
It has totally transformed the look of the house.
The new front door will eventually be centered on the wall, where the double window is, but that’s a ways down the road.
Railing and steps should be on the agenda for next week, we hope.
Now, the windows!
Aren’t they gorgeous?
The picture on the left is the front of the house.
The hole in the wall above the blocks will be a third window, but the guys use that as a door to access the addition.
The picture on the right is the back of the house.
Today Steve and I took out the front door!
Now you see it,
now you don’t.
We (mostly Steve)took out the door and frame, then Steve cut & installed sheathing to close up the space to left of the 2 x 4.
The space to the right of the 2 x 4 will be part of our new hallway from the garage to the rest of the house, so that stayed open.
The addition is not closed in yet so we had to put up some plywood to keep the two areas separate.
Quite a decorating statement piece, hey?
I keep reminding myself it’s temporary!
The progression of your home is awesome. I would love to be sitting with you all taking it in. We are so proud of the B’s. Love, Mom “B” aka Grandma “B”.
